LHDC, an affiliate of the Laborers' International Union of North America, Midwest Region, currently has nine developments up and running and fully occupied.  These developments contain a total of 602 units with 160 units for independent senior living and 442 for families or seniors. One 76 unit supportive living facility for the frail elderly was opened in December 2007 in Pekin, IL. Another 50 unit multi family development has recently been approved for Paris IL. Once completed, LHDC will have 728 total units.

Five developments have been built since 2002.  LHDC has awarded approximately $22.7 million in construction contracts for the construction of its new facilities since 2002. These new developments provide 264 units of quality affordable housing for working families across Illinois, and construction jobs for our members. A construction contract is negotiated with one of our union contractors.
